"I'm really proud of the work that I'm doing in Africa. I feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment in terms of my career and the work that I have done. I'm, you know, I have four children now and I'd like to think I'm a good mother. So yeah, I mean I feel a great sense of satisfaction in many areas of my life." she said.

As for life in London, where she previously resided with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, the pop star said she only misses part of the city.

"I miss being able to walk around my neighborhood. It's much more mellow and laid-back and relaxed than Manhattan," Madonna explained.

But what about missing London's pub life?

"No," Madonna said with laugh.

As for the ales she began enjoying while spending time at Guy's Mayfair pub, the singer said she has trouble finding them stateside.

"I went to pubs all the time," she said during the interview. "But they don't have any pubs in New York."

The pop star also explained that she's keeping up with her famous intense workout regime.

"It's for health reasons, and for aesthetic reasons," Madonna said of why she keeps fit. "If I have to go out on stage and jump around in a pair of hot pants, I have to look good."
