Lindsay Lohan Checks into O.J. Lawyer's Rehab Facility

Sober-living facility "Pickford Lofts" opens its doors to LiLo

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly checked herself into a rehab facility owned by famed O.J. Simpson attorney Robert Shapiro, a week before the "Mean Girls" star is due to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence.

The 24-year-old actress was seen entering Los Angeles sober-living facility "Pickford Lofts" on Wednesday afternoon, and was still there on Thursday, according to People magazine. Her mom Dina, sister Ali, and ex, Samantha Ronson were all said to be seen visiting Lohan at the center.

With Lohan set to report to Judge Marsha Revel's courtroom by July 20 to begin serving her sentence, the move may be a last minute attempt to lessen the severity of the judge's ruling, according to People.

"The hope is that the judge either reduces the sentence or tosses it out have have Lindsay stay in a facility instead of jail," a source told the magazine.

Pickford Lofts was founded by defense attorney Robert Shapiro, who along with the late Robert Kardashian, were members of former NFL running back O.J. Simpson's "Dream Team" defense during his murder trial in the mid-90s.

Shapiro became involved with substance abuse treatment following the death of his son Brent, who overdosed from drugs in 2005. Besides the rehab facility, Shapiro has also established "The Brent Shapiro Foundation" to help those struggling with drug and alcohol-related issues.

Following news of Lohan's decision to seek treatment, her estranged father, Michael Lohan, wasted no time in seizing an I-told-you-so moment.

"Why is it that I had to cry from the mountain for Lindsay to listen to me and now finally she is doing what I said?" the elder Lohan told E! News. "None of this would have happened if Lindsay and Dina had [listened to me]. I was telling Dina and Lindsay this privately for years now."

On July 6, Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by 90 days of mandatory alcohol treatment for violating the terms of her probation in a DUI case.

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, resigned without explanation after the hearing.
