What's the real status of Jon Gosselin's love life?
Romance rumors have trailed the "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star since he and estranged wife Kate announced their split on the TLC show weeks ago, and on Monday, the star will have the chance to clear the air when he sits down in New York with E! News – following Kate's own interview on "Good Morning America" on Monday morning.
However, Kate Major, a tabloid reporter who claims to have quit her job over Jon and joined him in the Hamptons for a recent dinner date with Michael Lohan, isn't waiting to speak out.
"I definitely think Jon has feelings for me and cares about me a lot," Kate told E! Online.
But she said she doesn't know what the 32-year-old father of eight is looking for in a relationship.
"This time I'm not sure what he wants to do," she said. "I mean, who can really close the book at 32?"
She claimed to E! that she's in touch with Jon now, though most of their conversations are over the phone.
"I think Jon just needs to spend time to himself," Kate said. "I mean, there are many days that I wish that I talked to him in person instead of over the phone. But that's the way it has to be right now."
She's even willing to cool off the relationship for the father of eight's sake.
"If we're better off as friends and that means that people kinda leave him alone and just let him be the dad that he wants to be, then I'm willing to do that for him," she said.
Meanwhile, Jon's relationship with Hailey Glassman, who he took to the French Riviera before being linked to Kate Major, is also up in the air.
"What began as friendship has grown into something more," Jon told People of Hailey in July. "[We] only recently began dating."
