Ex-Olympic Skater Tonya Harding Weds Again

Hopefully, Tonya Harding will attract less controversy and bad publicity with her latest endeavor: marriage.

The former Olympic skater, who is best known for her involvement in the 1994 attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan, has married for the second time, The Associated Press reported, citing a story in The Columbian newspaper.

According to records at the Clark County Auditor’s office in Vancouver, Wa. Harding, 39, wed Joseph Jens Price, 42.  They are both from Yacolt, said The Columbian.

“She kept saying she was sorry he was late,” deputy auditor Karen Updike, who issued the license on June 23, told the newspaper that Harding arrived at the Public Service Center before the groom. “She was very nice, appreciative.”

Updike also characterized Price as a “real nice, blue collar-type guy. They were a very nice couple.”

Harding once held the national figure skating championship title in 1991. In 1994, her then-husband Jeff Gillooly was charged in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan Jan. 6 at the Olympic trials; Harding admitted she knew of the plot afterwards. After a plea bargain, she was banned for life from the U.S. Figure Skating Association. She then had a brief stint as a boxer.
