Arnold: “I'd Run For Prez if I Could”

California gov. tells Leno he'd make White House bid "without any doubt"

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger would love to run for president, but the Austrian-born Terminator knows he's limited by the Constitution.

"Without any doubt," Schwarzenegger told Jay Leno when asked Thursday on "The Tonight Show" night if he would run for the White House if the presidency wasn't limited to U.S.-born candidates.

Over the years, there has been talk and even some Legislative support for amending the Constitution to allow naturalized citizens to hold the nation's highest office. Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch proposed such an amendment in 2004. But to be adopted, it would require approval by two-thirds majorities in both houses, and then ratification by three-fourths of all state Legislatures.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear says the governor doesn't think that will happen.
