Angelina Jolie Pays a Visit to Haiti

Angelina Jolie's latest visit to a foreign nation was so low-key, it wasn’t even announced.

The actress and UN goodwill ambassador quietly visited Haiti over the weekend to meet with Haitian and UN officials, The Associated Press reported.

Officials from the UN did confirm Jolie’s visit to the AP, but did not want to be identified because they were not asked to disclose the details of the visit.

The Miami Herald further reported that Jolie was in Haiti to learn more about the situation regarding the country’s children. She met with Haitian president Rene Preval.

Jolie, who is starring in the upcoming movie "Salt," has visited Haiti previously. She was there in February meeting with victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake.

She recently traveled to a part of Ecuador to bring awareness about the plight of women and children refugees.
