Grateful Dead to Release More Chicago Tickets Friday

The Grateful Dead will release another round of single-day tickets for fans this week. (Published Wednesday, June 3, 2015)

Fans that missed out on tickets for the Grateful Dead’s Fare Thee Well performance at Soldier Field will have one more chance to get tickets to the highly-anticipated show.

The band announced that a limited amount of single-day tickets will be released Friday.

The sale, which begins online at noon Eastern Time, will limit each person to two tickets per show, the band said. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.

In February, tickets sold out online in moments, with fans breaking Ticketmaster’s “on-sale record.” On top of that, more than 60,000 fans sent in mail order requests, prompting the band to delay the public sale and cancel a pre-sale event.

Tickets were available on resale sites like StubHub, many for well-above face value. In fact, one seller on StubHub had asked for $116,000 for one 3-day pass.

Single-day ticket prices on Ticketmaster ranged from $59.50-$199.50, plus Ticketmaster fees, while 3-day passes ranged from $169.50 to $589.50.

A general admission pit directly in front of the stage was reserved for mail order ticketholders while a second general admission floor section behind the pit and reserved seating throughout the stadium were made available during the public sale.
