Pearl Jam Set to Play Pair of Shows at Wrigley Field

The Chicago Cubs are going to be providing plenty of excitement for fans at Wrigley Field this summer, but on Tuesday the team added another attraction to the Friendly Confines, announcing plans to welcome back some familiar faces for a two-night summer concert event.

That group is Pearl Jam, and they will be playing two shows at Wrigley Field this summer. The concerts will take place on August 20 and 22, and while no date for ticket sales has been announced, they will likely go quickly for a band that is deeply connected with the Cubs.

After all, lead singer Eddie Vedder has not only written a song about the team winning a World Series, but he became a fixture around the ballpark last summer as the team made the postseason. Videos of him singing with Cubs players and hanging out with the team circulated around the internet, and it’s clear that the Evanston-native has never forgotten his hometown roots.

The band is the latest musical act to be booked at Wrigley Field this summer, following announcements for shows that include Billy Joel, Luke Bryan, James Taylor and Jackson Browne.
