Pool hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily, unless posted otherwise, through Labor Day

Everyone into the pool!

The Chicago Park District on Friday opened its 49 outdoor pools and turned on water features at dozens of locations, another sign summer has begun.

All pools within the district offer free open swim programming. Pool hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily, unless posted otherwise, through Labor Day. Water features are available during normal park and playground hours.

Lap swim sessions and a variety of instructional pool sessions also are available through the district.

Kids ages 6 to 17 can receive free swimming lessons for a 10-week session using the coupon code "First Free" on the district's website. The subsequent 10-week session is priced at $30.

In addition to outdoor pools, the Chicago Park District operates 28 indoor pools and 14 CPS pools during the season. Indoor pools are open year-round.
