GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum seems to have predicted an outstanding performance on his behalf in Tuesday night's debate in Milwaukee.

The Pennsylvania Republican fell ill with laryngitis and canceled a campaign event in Michigan on Monday, but it hasn't put an end to his plans to participate in the debate.

On Monday, Santorum tweeted a photo of his debate credentials with a teabag and compared the his "laryngitis presidential debate" with former Bulls' star Michael Jordan's famous "flu game."

If Santorum's "laryngitis debate" is anything like Jordan's "flu game," he should do very well. On June 11, 1997, Jordan scored 38 points against the Utah Jazz to help Chicago defeat the team 90-88 all while battling flu symptoms.

Although Santorum was still presumably ill Tuesday morning, the laryngitis failed to keep him from a campaign event in Chicago. Santorum made an appearance at McCormick Place at 8:30 a.m. to discuss American manufacturing at the FABTECH Exposition and Conference.

Santorum is scheduled to participate in the undercard debate in Milwaukee, where he will face off against Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal. The debate, hosted by Fox Business Network and the Wall Street Journal, will begin at 6 p.m. CST followed by the main debate with the top eight candidates at 8 p.m.
