Rahm Radio Ad Features Mother of Slain CPS Student

Rahm Emanuel has released a new radio ad targeting Chicago's Black community.

The spot, which has aired on hip-hop station WGCI-FM, enlists the mother of Blair Holt, the Chicago Public Schools student shot and killed while riding a bus on May 10, 2007.

"Soon, Chicago will choose a new mayor," Annette Nance-Holt says in the minute-long ad. "I want someone with a strong record of fighting crime and gun violence. As President Clinton’s point man on crime, Rahm Emanuel put 100,000 more police officers on our streets, including hundreds more here in Chicago."

It goes on to praise Emanuel's actions on gun laws and the Violence Against Women Act before addressing the "political games" being played by those trying to get Emanuel kicked off the ballot due to residency concerns.

Holt's father, Ron Holt, was appointed in June as the head of Chicago's Alternative Policing Program.
