Quinn Still Willing to Talk About Gambling Expansion

Gov. Pat Quinn said Saturday he's still willing to talk to state lawmakers and Mayor Rahm Emanuel about expanding gambling in Illinois.

The Illinois House earlier this week handed the governor when it shot down a revised bill. Quinn threatened to veto the first iteration.

"It was pretty clear that the members there want a plan that is — focuses on integrity — that scales back the excessive gambling and makes sure the money is used for something important," Quinn said after an education event at the University of Illinois Chicago.

The gambling measure could come up for a vote again when the House reconvenes on Nov. 29.
