Attorney General Lisa Madigan is eyeing a bid to run for mayor of Chicago, according to rumbles heard by NBC Chicago's Carol Marin and Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed.
Both Sneed and Marin hear the popular statewide vote-getter may be waiting until after the Nov. 2 election to announce her entry into the mayoral fray.
Madigan will only publicly state "it is my intention to run for Attorney General," but refuses to state a simple "Yes" or "No" to the mayoral bid.
Filing deadline for the mayoral battle is Nov. 22.
