Brizard Kicks off School Tour

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the new Chicago Public Schools chief, Jean Claude Brizard, kicked off a school listening tour on Thursday with a stop at Guggenheim Elementary School in Englewood.

Thursday was Brizard's first official day on the job after his $250,000/year contract was approved a day earlier by the Board of Education.

Brizard plans on visiting a different school day every day to get acquainted with the students, teachers, administrators and community members.
