Correction: City Did Respond to FOIA

Ward Room owes Chicago's Board of Ethics an apology.

Eleven days ago, this site published an opinion piece which took the board to task for its apparent lack of transparency about who, exactly, is responsible for reviewing or acting upon aldermanic campaign finance disclosure violations.

We filed a request to get answers through the Freedom of Information Act. And when we got no response, we passed that information onto you, our readers.

But it turns out we were wrong. We did get a response. The message literally got lost in the mailbox of the editor tasked with following up.

To the Board of Ethics: we apologize for the oversight. Sincerely.
