Nancy Maldonado, the wife of Ald. Roberto Maldonaldo, passed away on Tuesday.
Nancy Maldonado died after a “courageous battle with cancer,” an announcement from the alderman's staff read.
"Words of condolence fail to express the deep sadness that has overcome the Alderman, their three children Rene, Roberto Jr., and Raquel, and Nancy's parents at this time," the statement read.
"Nancy was a devoted wife and mother but she was also an active volunteer in the community,” the statement continued. “Now our prayers, fond memories and photographs are what we have to remember Nancy's time here on Earth."
The visitation will take place Wednesday, Jan. 6th, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Alvarez Funeral Home at 2500 N. Cicero.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 7th at 9:30 a.m. at Maternity BVM Church, located at 3647 W. North Ave.
