In Chicago, there's no better ally than Mayor Richard Daley. He's proud to be a lifelong fan of the "Boys of Summer." He says going to a game at Comiskey Park with his father is one of his earliest childhood memories.
The White Sox are paying a special tribute to their biggest fan, former Mayor Richard Daley.
The Sox will host a "Mayor Daley Night" on Wednesday, Aug.t 3 when the team plays against the Yankees at 7:10 p.m.
Daley is expected to receive the 2011 Roland Hemond Award for his 22 years of service to the city of Chicago.
The award honors people who dedicate their lives to helping others. The ceremony also will include a video for the Mayor, as well as a ceremonial first pitch.
Some Sox fans will walk away with a commemorative Mayor Daley "photo baseball," as well.
