The Buzz: Tom Swiss' top priority, if elected, would be to bring back jobs to the West Side. The former Cook County Republican Party leader switched sides of the political aisle to run for the spot. He said he won't hide from his GOP lineage, and considers himself a "Blue Dog." In an aside, he told the Chicago Tribune that he has lived in Kenya and speaks Swahili. His opponent, Derrick Smith was appointed to the position after Annazette Collins was appointed to State Senate.
