Several Chicago Polling Locations Extend Voting Hours

Several polling places in Chicago have extended their hours and will remain open for voters until 8 p.m.

The Chicago Board of Elections confirmed four precincts would remain open for an extra hour Tuesday.

Officials said those in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote at the following locations:

  • Leona's Restaurant, 6935 N. Sheridan Rd (49th Ward, Precinct 9).
  • 3550 Lake Shore Condo, 3550 N. Lake Shore Dr. (46th Ward, Precinct 36).
  • 1700 E. 56th St. Condo Assoc, 1700 E. 56 St (5th Ward, Precinct 35 and 41).
  • Soka Gakkai International USA, 1455 S. Wabash Ave. (3rd Ward, Precinct 25 and 39).

Voters reported a spate of problems around the Chicago area — from closed polling locations to inoperable voting machines to missing ballot pages — soon after voting kicked off at 6 a.m.

Unless specified, other Chicago-area polling places are set to close at 7 p.m.
