Illinois Retailers Won't Endorse a Candidate in 2014

A political arm of the Illinois Retail Merchants Association has chosen avoid making an endorsement in the 2014 governor's race.

What makes this interesting is that over the last 6 governor contests the group has endorsed 4 Republicans, Bill Brady, George Ryan, Jim Edgar and Jim Thompson. The association did twice endorse Rod Blagojevich, too.

The sticking point to steer away from Rauner appears to be his evolving stand on the minimum wage.  The Illinois Retailers have not supported a hike in the minimum wage and Rauner has changed his position several times.

The press release states "it is unclear how Mr. Rauner would accomplish these goals" as it refers to the GOP nominees overall vision.
