Debate Watch Party Hosted in Skokie Mexican Restaurant By Republican Group

The Niles Township Republican Organization organized a watch party for the first presidential debate in el Fuego Mexican restaurant in the northern suburb of Skokie.

All eyes were stuck to the TV screens as the crowd, mostly Donald Trump supporters, listened intently.

“I would say that Trump won—I mean by a million miles!” said Abigail Mountain. “He knows when to speak, he’s not afraid to express himself, he comes in at the right time, but he kept his calm.

Brian Beck felt that no one won.

“I think America lost,” he said. “I’m not happy with either candidate.”

Elsewhere in Chicago, in the South Loop, a primarily Democratic crowd held a similar watch party.
