The Competition: Monique Davis
The Buzz: A native of Chicago's South Side, Brown has a strong understanding of what his district needs. He believes a strong community develops job training opportunities, creates new jobs with competitive wages and allows its citizens a chance of ownership. When he announced his candidacy, Brown said the 27th District is without "true representation in Springfield" and encourages citizens to participate on the "grassroots level." Brown holds a Master of Business Administration Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration. He currently is studying law at Northern Illinois University College of Law.
