Presence Health Picks Chicago for Central HQ

After a busy weekend of campaigning for President Barack Obama, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Monday a new addition to the Loop.

Presence Health plans to establish a new corporate headquarters at 200 S. Wacker Drive and move 200 employees to Chicago, Emanuel said.

Presence Health was formed following last year's merger of Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care, and the move brings employees together from the city's Northwest Side and suburban Mokena.

“This new headquarters facility will allow Presence to continue its outstanding growth, fueled by the talent and one-of-a-kind economic environment found in the city of Chicago,” Emanuel said in a statement.

“We are excited about the benefits of bringing together our executives and support staff into one downtown location,” said Presence President Sandra Bruce. “A downtown location is central to the agencies and businesses with whom we frequently interact and furthers our goals to provide broader access to community health care."

Presence Health, the second largest health care system in the state, employs 22,000, including 4,000 medical professionals.
