N'DIGO Readers Love Carol, Hate Rahm

N’DIGO’s mayoral poll is out, and while it’s not scientific -- it was conducted online -- and does not represent a typical cross-section of Chicago, it does show that Carol Moseley Braun has a base.

Rahm Emanuel, a frontrunner in the mainstream media, doesn't fare too well in the N'Digo People’s Polls,” writes publisher Hermene Hartman; “Carol Moseley Braun, however, fares well. Neil Steinberg of the Chicago Sun-Times criticized the poll we conducted in November, in a column that dismisses Carol Moseley Braun as a serious contender. Thereafter, we posted a new poll to measure the people’s pulse after Rev. James Meeks withdrew from the race. A total of 474 participated in the online poll. (Danny K. Davis’s name was included in the poll, although he recently bowed out).”

N’DIGO is written for Chicago’s upscale black community. The respondents were 47.2 African American and 52.2 female. For what it’s worth, those readers do not like Rahm Emanuel. Although he finished second overall in the poll, he lost every head to head matchup.

Here are the results. With Davis out of the race, you have to assume that Moseley Braun’s support among this demographic is even stronger than these numbers reflect. You also have to assume that Moseley Braun’s supporters are still pissed at Neil Steinberg. Or at least Hermene Hartman is.
