The Buzz: Lang was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1988. He made a name for himself working on legislation surrounding issues of minimum wage, families, school funding and scholarships.

Lang is a strong proponent for gambling and receives much of his campaign contributions from the gaming industry. He recently sponsored a gambling expansion bill in an effort to boost the economy and increase job opportunity which Gov. Pat Quinn later vetoed. Lang is still looking to override the governor's veto.
