King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands visited Chicago as part of their visit to the United States this week.
The royal couple arrived in Chicago on Tuesday. On Wednesday they visited Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy. Two student ambassadors guided them through a school tour. The royals also visited the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University's Lurie Medical Research Center.
Willem-Alexander and Maxima's visit to the U.S. is to thank the nation for its role in ending World War II, to commemorate the fallen and commend the strong economic, cultural and political ties between the two countries.
