The Buzz: John M. Sullivan has served as senator since 2002. He calls himself an advocate for the state's agricultural industry and supports infrastructure maintenance.
In the agricultural area, Sullivan supports investments in crop-based fuels to stimulate the farming community and ease dependence on foreign oil. He also wants to keep in place a state tax exemption on livestock feed, seed and farm chemicals, according to his campaign website.
Sullivan was part of the creation of a capital construction bill, which funded the building of schools, roads, bridges and other infrastructure projects.
