The Buzz: Nixon is a former police officer and trainer as well as a patrol officer. He went on to become a school resource officer for the Bourbonnais Elementary School District and currently serves as a senior patrol supervisor.
Nixon's campaign is focused on saving the pension system, Medicaid reform, ending welfare abuse and Second Amendment rights.
