Former Gov. Quinn Earns $11,396 Monthly Pension

Former Gov. Pat Quinn receives a state pension of just under $11,400 a month, though it could shrink if proposed reforms he signed are enacted.

WUIS Springfield reports the former governor receives a check for $11,396 a month, or about $137,000 a year.

Quinn began collecting the pension the day after Gov. Bruce Rauner was sworn in to replace him Jan. 12.

The monthly payments include $10,774.10 from the General Assembly Retirement System and $622.38 from the State Employees Retirement System.

The Chicago Democrat also served as state treasurer and lieutenant governor and worked for Gov. Dan Walker in the 1970s.

Quinn and other pension recipients could see their benefits reduced if the Illinois Supreme Court upholds a pension reform law Quinn signed in 2013.
