When Rahm Emanuel wore a denim shirt to Sunday night's Chicago Blackhawks playoff game, the Twitter-verse smirked at the sight of the mayor in what appeared to be one of Jerry Seinfeld's '90s hand-me-downs.
The reelection-seeking Emanuel, a non-sports fan in a fanatical sports town, observed the Blackhawks' winning showdown against the Minnesota Wild with trademark intensity, sporting a team logo underneath an open, faded denim shirt.
His casual attire prompted a flurry of mocking reactions on Twitter, a smattering of which we've collected below:
Hey, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, just saw you in the crowd at the Wild-Hawks game. 1989 called, it wants its shirt back.

DIdn’t realize Rahm Emanuel was Canadian, but the denim shirt doesn’t lie.
