The first gym where Chico was scheduled to speak canceled the newser after Emanuel's team called. The second gym second has not.
"We better debate these issues about taxation. We better debate them and there better be no intimidation. That is wrong," Chico scolded.
Chico's campaign points out the state legislature establishes luxury items -- and local gyms are on that list.
Emanuel's campaign maintains that Chico is spreading the wrong message.
"it's private clubs like the Saddle and Cycle Club, not local gyms" that would see a luxury nine percent tax hike, said Emaneul campaign spokesman Ben Labolt.
He said the campaign calls to Chico's events is in no way bullying, rather "people don't want to be associated with false attacks."
