Tammy Duckworth speaks to her supporters in Homewood, after defeating Raja Krishnamoorthi. Duckworth states Krishnamoorthi sent a positive message in their race by calling and congratulating her. She will challenge Joe Walsh for the 8th Congressional District seat.
We told you Rep. Joe Walsh, Tea Party-Ill., has been doing Tammy Duckworth a big favor by acting like an intemperate a-hole. In the second quarter of this year, which runs from April to June, Duckworth raised $885,540. It was not only her best quarter yet, but it “is believed to be the highest quarter for any House challenger from either party,” according to a campaign press release.
So far, Duckworth has raised $1,047,447. And this is all money that came in before Walsh told a town hall meeting that Duckworth, who lost both legs in Iraq, is not a “true hero” because she boasts about her military service. That remark brought nationwide attention to the 8th District congressional race and a slew of contributions to Duckworth’s campaign.
Walsh is his own opposition research operation. The Democrats don’t even have to look for dirt on him. He provides it himself, every time he divorces a wife or makes a speech.
