Lawmakers have reached a deal that would keep Sears Holding Corp. and CME Group, Inc. in Illinois, sources say.
Rep. John Bradley (D-Marion) and House GOP Leader Tom Cross' office confirmed to Crain's Chicago that a deal will be put to a vote next week.
Speaker of the House Michael Madigan on Tuesday summoned back to Springfield legislators who failed to take action on a special tax break for a pair of Illinois businesses.
The move signaled they were close to a deal that would give tax breaks to the retailer and financial powerhouse in the state.
Lawmakers told Crain's the pact resembles a version on the plan that passed the Senate last month. It failed in the House, which voted 99-8 against the legislation.
The House is schedule to vote Monday, the Senate on Tuesday.
