The Buzz: Dan Kotowski, state senator since 2007, is running on a platform of reducing government spending and fighting government corruption.

Kotowski serves as chair for the Budgeting for Results Commission, and he co-sponsored a bill that became law requiring public officials convicted of corruption to forfeit funds obtained from that corruption.

Kotowski supports the reduction of township government and government investment into technology companies in the hopes of job creation. State contracts must also go before a board at the time of their renewal under legislation Kotowski co-sponsored, according to his campaign's Website.

Kotowski lives in Park Ridge with his wife and two sons.
