Rahm Emanuel testified on Tuesday before the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners. He said that when he moved toWashington, he left his family's "most valuable possessions" in boxes, showing he always intended to move back to Chicago.
Rahm Emanuel's residency case is streaking through the court system.
Judge Mark J. Ballard said at a hearing Tuesday that attorneys for Emanuel along with citizen objectors will argue their case next Tuesday in Cook County. He indicated ruling would follow quickly.
Burt Odelson, the lead objecting lawyer, said he wouldn't call any witnesses and his case would be finished quickly.
However it turns out in Ballard's courtroom, it will only be one stop along the way to the Supreme Court. Both sides -- Emanuel and the objectors -- have indicated they'll take the case all the way to the Illinois supreme court.
