That's Jackie Heard, press secretary for Mayor Daley, on the first-ever meeting between the Mayor and GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady.

They met at City Hall today for about an hour.

"They spoke about issues of mutual importance such as big box stores on the South Side, amongst other things," added Brady's press secretary Jaime Elich.

According to the spokespeople, Brady was surprised the Mayor has taken such a large pay cut and that "no one is making a bigger deal about it."

Heard cautioned that observers shouldn't read too much into the meeting, and that the Mayor meets with a lot of folks.

But, Heard says, the Mayor found Brady to be "a straightforward guy."
