The Buzz: Gillespie worked as a hod carrier and laborer for 12 years before serving in the Army Resrves for six years. He was deployed and then honorably discharged after obtaining the rank of sergeant. He now practices law, representing injured workers in Illinois.
He strongly supports the Second Amendment and believes economic development, fiscal responsibility and electing a leader that represents the district are top issues in the campaign.
