Bill Daley got a little teary eyed Tuesday as he explained his decision to drop out of the Illinois governor's race.
Those tears surely weren't for Gov. Pat Quinn, though. A true Daley, the former White House chief of staff choked up while mentioning his family.
"As part of a family that has public service in its blood, a family in which I am extremely proud, I've always been motivated as each of them to serve," Daley said, struggling a little toward the end of his address to reporters.
When asked later why he got so emotional, he gave a one-word answer: "Irish."
