The way to a Dems wallet is through his stomach. Or maybe it's proximity to power.
Either way, Alexi Giannoulias is trying to appeal to donors by offering a dinner with himself and President Barack Obama Thursday when the prez comes to town for a fund raiser.
"On October 7th, President Obama is coming home to Chicago to host a fundraiser for our campaign," a message on Alexi's campaign site says. "If you make a contribution right now - just before the critical end-of-quarter fund raising deadline - you'll have a chance to join the President and me for a night you'll never forget."
The site asks for donations of as little as $10 to put contributors in the running for a dinner with the President.
Obama arrives in Chicago Thursday. No word on who picks up the check.
