The Buzz: Adam Kinzinger is currently the U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of Illinois. A member of the Energy & Commerce Committee, one of his top priorities in Congress is to strengthen U.S. energy policy and make our nation less reliant on foreign resources. He has previously served in the Air Force Special Operations, Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, and Air National Guard. He currently holds the rank of Captain. Some of his platforms include opposing pay raises for elected officials and fighting against taxes on small businesses. In 2006, Kinzinger was named "Hero of the Year" by the Wisconsin Red Cross for wrestling a knife-wielding man to the ground after the man had cut a woman's throat.

Kinzinger is a strong critic of President Obama's 2010 health care reform.

In March 2010, former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, endorsed and praised Kinzinger for his role in the military.
