Maria Menounos, the self-proclaimed "EveryGirl," wants readers to know she understands what it's like to feel like one's weight is holding them back.

The EveryGirl's Guide to Diet and Fitness, out Tuesday, is a follow-up to the journalist and occasional professional wrestler's 2011 book, The EveryGirl’s Guide to Life.

In it, Menounos, shares practical tips you can use to lose weight and keep it off, and how that can help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

The 33-year-old former beauty queen was once more than 40 pounds overweight. Her weight-loss program is based on the Mediterranean diet of her childhood that will encourage women to think "smarter, simpler, and healthier."
