We loved director Lone Scherfig's "An Education" as much as the next guy, so it's been with a measure of anticipation that we've looked forward to her new film, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. Unfortunately, the trailer has tempered our enthusiasm.

"One Day," adapted by David Nichols fro his own novel, tells the story of two people who hook up on graduation day and, reunite on the anniversary of thew event for the next 20 years.

It all seems terribly familiar, Hathaway's accent is off-putting, Sturgess feels miscast as a cad, Patrician Clarkson's (implied) fight with cancer feels treacly and emotionally manipulative, and the music makes us want to shove chopsticks in our ears.
