Sharon Osbourne on IRS Fight: “It Was My Own Fault”

And now, in honor of Tax Day, a word from Sharon Osbourne on the importance of paying your IRS bills.

After last week’s report that Ozzy and Sharon owed the government $1.7 million in unpaid taxes from 2008 and 2009 – and we can only imagine the volume of Ozzy’s “Shaaaaaarron!” bellow when THAT notice came in the mail – Sharon tells PopcornBiz that she’s learned her lesson the hard way.

“Darling, I did [get it taken care of] and it was my own fault because I wasn’t taking care of business,” Osbourne tells us. “I was caring more about me than taking care of my family’s business and I had a business manager that didn’t care about me either, so he wasn’t paying attention and the two of us f**ked up. But it’s all paid and you learn through your mistakes. I learned to take care of my own business, darling, and not worry about my career.”

Speaking of taking care of business, Sharon – who returns to her hosting gig on “America’s Got Talent” this summer as well as continuing to co-host CBS’s daytime chat show “The Talk” – updated us on her long-percolating plan to make a film out of her heavy metal hubby’s life story.

“A screenplay is being written as we speak,” says Sharon, who’s nailed down production financing. Ozzy previously suggested that Johnny Depp would be a fine choice to portray him in the bat-biting Black Sabbath days, but now Sharon tells us “We’re going to go with somebody unknown.” As for who would play the Osbourne matriarch herself, Sharon laughed that she’s got “somebody quite fabulous” in mind.
