Sedgwick Dives Into “Chlorine” and Chilly Housewife Role

Kyra Sedgwick may seem every bit the supportive wife as she's accompanied real-life husband Kevin Bacon along their amazingly successful red carpet run this year.

But onscreen Sedgwick's personality is about to change after signing onto the indie-film "Chlorine" with Vincent D'Onofrio, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Sedgwick's new role will be that of a New England family matriarch with more interest in putting on the right appearances than truly taking care of her home. The chilly exterior pushes her husband (D'Onofrio) into making a bad real estate decision.

The indie script by writer-director Jay Alaimo sounds like the perfect vehicle for Sedgwick who continues to pull in the award hardware for her role TNT's "The Closer." As for D'Onofrio, who is leaving USA Network's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," hose him down and have a change of clothes nearby -- he'll be ready with the required angst. Looking forward to the fireworks.

This is the second time around for "Chlorine" which originally was set for Ray Liotta and Demi Moore. But that picture plan was scuttled due to Hurricane Katrina and scheduling.
