Soon You'll See Melanie Laurent in “Now You See Me” With Jesse Eisenberg

A month after the project was announced, "Now You See Me" has lost one star and gained another.

Melanie Laurent has joined the cast of Louis Leterrier's bank-robbing magicians flick, "Now You See Me," reported Variety. Jesse Eisenberg and Jake Gyllenhaal were originally announced to be in talks, but only the former remains, as Gyllenhaal has moved on to other things.

The story centers around a gang of illusionists who use their magic shows as diversions to rob banks, raining some of their booty down on their audience.

Laurent has given fantastic performances in 2009's "Inglorious Basterds," and earlier this summer opposite Ewan McGregor in "Beginners." She can do tough, sweet and freakishly luminescent. She should make for a nice pairing with Eisenberg, who continues to stretch his boundaries with a variety of roles that have moved him away from the Michael Cera ghetto he was very nearly stranded in.

Eisenberg can next be seen Aug. 12 in "30 Minutes or Less," which reunites him with "Zombieland" helmer Ruben Fleischer."
