We know two major things ahead of next year's release of the much-anticipated "Dark Knight Rises." 1) That it is most assuredly the final go-round for director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale and 2) the main villain is Bane, who, in the comics, is famous for snapping Batman's spinal cord like a wishbone.

Both elements are firmly on display in the new teaser poster for "Dark Knight Rises." The tagline "The Legend Ends" is both a hint at the physical threat facing Gotham, as well as a nod to the completion of Nolan's trilogy (the subtext: "Just try and top these movies with someone else, Warner Bros.).

And the image of Bane walking away from a shattered Bat-mask also echos the final shot in the "Dark Knight Rises" teaser trailer, which shows an exhausted Batman uncharacteristically backing away from an enemy.
