Hey, Look! It's Jeff Bridges in “True Grit”

With the release of "True Grit" still a Christmas away, we've got our first peek of Rooster Cogburn.

Shots of Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn, the role that won John Wayne his only Oscar, in the Coen Brothers' remake of the classic Western appeared on the blog Joe M. O'Connell back in May. Since then, they have gradually found there way into the wilds of cyberspace, by way of Film Drunk.

The shots, taken on the steps of the old courthouse in Blanco, Texas, and show Bridges and co-star Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Mattie Ross, along with various and assorted riffraff -- presumably crewmembers. Photos of three men being hanged in Granger, Texas, appeared on Joe M. O'Connell back on May 4.

In the Coens' new film version, the story will be told from the perspective of Mattie, as in the original novel. The movie also stars Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Barry Pepper. This is gonna be the best Christmas ever!
