For longwinded Emmy-winning speechifiers who might not notice those wrap-it-up orchestral notes, host Jane Lynch is offering a novel solution this year.

“We have a group of singers, people who act in television, who we are calling The Emmingtons,” Lynch revealed while rolling out the red carpet at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, where she’ll be hosting the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night. “They will be introducing each of the categories: Comedy, drama, mini-series, reality and variety. Also if any of our winners go long they'll be gently singing them off. So that'll be fun and we're going to have a great time with that.”

Lynch admitted that the grueling part of her hosting schedule kicked in this week. “I haven't seen daylight in a couple of days,” she chuckled. “I had one dream where I walked onstage and had a faceplant, and I think that I probably got that out of my system.”

But the “Glee” star – who’s nominated for her work on the series in the Supporting Actress in a Comedy category – told PopcornBiz she wouldn’t have it any other way. “It's not hard work. It's actually quite joyful work. We're having a really good time. The crew, [producer] Mark Burnett and everyone on the production side have just been amazing. I don't know how they do what they do. But they have just made everything…every time I've asked for something, like, 'What if we did this?' It's been, 'Yes, yes.' Of course, now they're starting to say no, but it's been a joy, just a joy.”

“What's great about it and also kind of maddening and scary is that it's not written yet,” adds the actress. “I'm going back in there as soon as we're done here with the wonderful and good writers, my good friend Jill and Faith Soloway who I've worked with forever are kind of heading up the writing team. I'm having the time of my life.

“Jane is very engaged, very much in with the writers and creating stuff,” added Burnett, the reality series creator who’s executive producing the telecast. “She's not been given scripts. She's working on stuff with the writers. She's very engaged and it's a really joyful experience for me.”

Lynch, who’ll be adorned in a series of outfits designer by David Meister throughout the broadcast, is also planning out exactly how she’ll keep any pre-show butterflies at bay on Sunday morning. “I'll be right here at the hotel [neighboring the Nokia] which is going to be nice,” she says. “I'll start it like I always start it. I think what's really important is that I go to the gym in the morning. I think I should a little cardio – that always makes me feel better, and then my coffee. My family is with me and we'll be ready, then the makeup will come and it'll start.”
