Amanda Seyfried stars as a young woman who survives a serial killer's attack, only to have him come back and take her sister when he can't find her. When the cops refuse to believe her story, it's up to her find them both. Opens Feb. 24.

After the success of "Mamma Mia!," Amanda Seyfried found herself on the brink of super-stardom. Just three years later, it may be time to start wondering where it all went wrong.

The trailer for Seyfried's latest film, "Gone," has arrived, and it looks none too promising. She stars as a young woman who had previously escaped the clutches of a serial killer, but the cops never quite believed her. When her sister goes missing one night, she's sure it was the same killer, who'd returned for another whack at her, but settled for the sibling. Again, the cops don't believe her.

    "In Time" Trailer

Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried in this futuristic thriller, which opens Oct. 28.

The film was helmed by Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia and written by Allison Burnett ("Underworld: Awakening"), and co-stars Sebastian Stan, Daniel Sunjata, Wes Bentley, Michael Pare... you get the idea. The film opens Feb. 24--even the release date fails to inspire confidence.

Going back to 2009, Seyfried has starred in "Jennifer's Body," "Chloe," "Letters to Juliet," "Red Riding Hood" and "In TIme." Taken individually, none of those is an unforgivable choice for an up-and-coming actress, but as a body of work over a two-year span, it has to give one pause about her decision-making process.

    "Red Riding Hood"

Amanda Seyfried is Valerie, a young woman living in a medieval village where the townsfolk have an uneasy truce with a local werewolf. When the beast betrays their pact, werewolf hunter Father Salomon (Gary Oldman) is brought in.

She's got good screen presence, she's talented and she's sexy, but it's been awhile since she made a film that was well received or was a massive hit.
