Teague Has Solid First Outing in D-League Showcase

Marquis Teague scored 15 points in the Iowa Energy's win over the Bakersfield Jam in Reno, Nev.

The D-League Showcase is an annual event that gives NBA general managers a chance to scout the wealth of talent the league has to offer. The four-day event takes place in Reno, Nev. as teams play two games each in a tournament style format.

On Tuesday, the Iowa Energy played their first game of the showcase and defeated the Bakersfield Jam in a high scoring affair, 133-121.

Marquis Teague had a solid outing against Bakersfield, scoring 15 points and dishing out nine assists while committing only two turnovers. Teague shot 7-15 from the field and also contributed three rounds in 30 minutes.

In five games, the Bulls assignee is averaging 13.8 points, 5.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 3.2 turnovers in 26 minutes per contest. Iowa is 4-1 since Teague was assigned on Dec. 26.

The Iowa Energy will play their second game of the D-League Showcase on Thursday against the Springfield Armor.
